Hello lovely people,
It’s been a restless couple of weeks with a lot going on and the juggling of multiple uncertainties. The mother of all, apocalyptic storms hit Dubai last week and for once the media coverage was not at all over dramatic. At 2 in the afternoon, the sky was as black as if it was midnight and the rain fell at an intensity that I’d never before experienced. I found myself stuck on Dubai’s 12-lane highway in the worst of it, and as the water levels rose and rose, we ultimately all had to squeeze into the central hard shoulder as the flood waters got deeper and deeper. Several hours later, I was home and dry (literally) but it’s been far from straightforward for many, many people. I am grateful that I am that person who never lets the petrol go below half a tank (imagine the added fear of running out of fuel) and thankful that our house is astonishingly watertight.
Writing is hard when the life that I’m writing about is taking up every bit of space in my head. A lot is happening right now and I need to give it my full attention. And so, I’m going to press PAUSE on these posts and emails for a little while, until I can return with my best self; hopefully less distracted and ready to throw myself into my new chapter in the UK.
For those of you who are paid subscribers (thank you ♡♡♡), I will also press PAUSE on your subscriptions so that you don’t lose out.
Until then, take care + be sure to watch Ripley on Netflix (it is perfection♡). Sending you all the love,

Dear Rachel, Good luck with the move! I would love to reconnect with you, I'm sorry I've been so rubbish! If there's anything I can do to help you settle in the UK, please let me know. It would be lovely to see you here. Good luck with this massive transition. If anyone can do it, it's you! Lots of love, Floor xxx
Good luck with the move. I hope you are soon settled in your new home. Look forward to your return. ❤️
